As mush as I want to blame Sullivan or Pellegrini for this signing , he started off on fire then no idea what happened but just ended up a flake.

Real bad signing but who was to know after the first season I thought we had a great player.
Second season crapper than a crap stand.

Winning the UEFA cup and finishing 3rd isn't seen as a great success for Chelsea?!

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Will he play that often? I know Sarri wasn't a great success at Chelsea but he did expect his players to run about a bit?

My nan (RIP) pronounced it as 'Derwolves'.....hope this helps.......

I thought Dwarves had special powers? Surely he saw this coming or am I thinking of Elves?

Sullivan’s deal gone wrong.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
LT - yeah, exactly. It sort of doesn't matter which of them is the assistant, although I'm sure one of them will adopt that title eventually (if it hasn't happened already).

Pearce, McKinlay, Nevin and Nolan: strong backroom, that.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Seems obvious that the club is offloading salary space as part of its bid to bring Lingard here permanently.

Sancho's move to Man Utd has seemingly sown more seeds of doubt in Lingard's mind over the deal he has been offered.

Bring him in, let's get this over with and get stuck into Europe...

"Not a bad appointment, and another one who Moyes trusts"

Yeah, I agree with that. Pearce, Nolan and McKinlay have all managed (I think?) so even though they're classed as "1st Team Coaches" they could probably all step up to the assistant manager role pretty seamlessly you'd hope.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
He had the ability just not the desire.

Weird player.

Atleast we can replace him now with a player that will contribute.

So now we get drawn in the same group as Lazio in the Europa league and you just know what happens next.......................

I really hope we end up playing lazio in Europe.

And coufal destroys him

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
LT - cheers.

Not a bad appointment, and another one who Moyes trusts. I don't have a problem with it - like the look of our backroom staff at the moment. Good blend of characters and pretty hard-bitten.

"I see that Billy McKinlay has joined the coaching staff. Is he a direct replacement for Irvine as assistant manager?"

Not sure if he's a direct replacement as assistant manager, but he's definitely joined the coaching team as a replacement for Irvine.

I always wondered what was in a professional footballers contract, hours of work , overtime rates, annual leave, sick pay , pension and company car

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
We massively overpaid for him, both in terms of transfer fee and wages. He had some decent games against mediocre opposition but I can't ever remember him playing well against a decent team. Maybe v Man Utd when we won 3-1? That's about it.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Speaking of coming and goings, and I can't be bothered to start a new thread just for one inquiry...but I see that Billy McKinlay has joined the coaching staff. Is he a direct replacement for Irvine as assistant manager?

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Absolutely terrible signing when you look at the financials of it.

Clearly is blessed with fantastic ability but the lack of research or interest in his attitude is indicative of the negligent way in which our club has been run under Sullivan. Can put all the blame you want on Pellegrini, but ultimately the blame lies with Sullivan in getting Manuel’s mate to be the Director of Football rather than a proper, objective professional.

Lee Trundle 4:01 Tue Jul 13
Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
I'd love to know how much we're saving per week bombing these players out whilst getting no one in.

Must be a small fortune lining Sullivan's pockets.

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
I agree with Vexed (and Rossall)... he looked good in patches when he came to us. He looked "superb" in individual matches. But overall even at the start of his time with us he wasn't consistently good for a sustained period. Even at the time people were talking about him in terms of being this amazing player and I couldn't see it myself albeit he'd play a few good matches in a row and show a couple of exquisite touches. That doesn't make him "superb" or even "very good" in my book. It makes him inconsistent. He went from inconsistent to consistently shit.

Rossal 3:55 Tue Jul 13
Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
He was half decent when he turned up, but never looked £30M worth......maybe not even half that

The last full season he had here he was the biggest waste of space in the squad. No work rate, no desire and no bollocks. Never went in for a tackle, never took anybody on, always passed backwards and sideways or stood in the left back position doing fuck all. No conincidence our form picked up and we stayed up soon as he got injured after xmas....he was like playing with 10 men. Then he went to Porto and couldnt even get on their bench for most the season.......his head had gone IMO.....and he is worth absolutley fuck all. If he was half as good as being suggest on here currently then surely theres 1 club in the whole of Europe who'd got for him for 5-10M

If we're managed to worm £10M out of this deal that combined with his wages off the books its one of the dildos best ever deals

Re: Felipe Anderson - gone
Leroys - Reckon so. Although, if we're lucky, we might get a small fee for Yarmo after his decent Euros showing.

He, more than Anderson, frustrated me because there is a good player in there. I was never really sure about Anderson. I'm with Vexed: saw too many games where he was just plain lazy (I know that will wind-up the DATA crowd - but DATA is pointless without context).
